Product information
These dowel rod cutters can be used in two ways: firstly, like a pencil sharpener, to create precise points on round rods or decorative points for rustic furniture, and secondly, with a drill to produce precise dowels from square strips.
When using a drill, you only need square strips that are slightly larger (1 – 2 mm) in diameter than the desired round rod. For this, you need the mounting base with the socket adapter for the drill offered here, to push the square strip through the clamped or screwed dowel rod cutter. The carbon steel blade in the zinc die-cast body of the dowel rod cutter can be precisely adjusted.
This device is suitable for both hard and soft, dry or wet wood. The slightly curved blade is relatively easy to sharpen. This device is available only in three sizes, and those only in exact inch measurements, with metric indications provided for orientation: 3/8 in. (9.5 mm), 7/16 in. (11.1 mm), and 1/2 in. (12.7 mm).
