Due to the height-adjustable palm rest, these miniature hand planes can be perfectly adapted to your hand. This makes them easy to handle and allows for both very fine and precise work. The plane bodies are made of fine cast iron with a bed angle of 45°, a non-adjustable mouth, and a brass locking screw that holds the iron, which has a bevel angle of 30° and is made of A2 steel. (The iron is 1.5 mm (0.06 inch) thick and 9.5 mm (3/8 inch) wide.) The soles are about 38 mm (1-1/2 inch) long and 16 mm (5/8 inch) wide. They are available in four different profiles. The concave and convex planes have curved soles with a radius across the body of 12.7 mm (1/2 inch). The double-convex (spoon-shaped) version also has a radius across the body of 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) and a radius along the body of 101 mm (4 inch). Replacement irons are available individually (the convex and the double-convex plane have the same iron). The wooden palm rest can be removed for work in tight spaces.
