This depth stop consists of a stop cage and a ball-bearing guide sleeve. The stop cage stops rotating when it touches the workpiece, thus protecting it. The guide sleeve is mounted on the drill shank using a set screw, and the depth is adjusted. This allows for consistently accurate depth when drilling blind holes. The stop cage is made of ABS and has an outer diameter of 65 mm, while the guide sleeve is made of steel.
Please note that this depth stop is 44 mm high and requires this space on the drill as well. Therefore, it is practical that the guide sleeve can be mounted in reverse to allow for greater drilling depths. This achieves a greater adjustment range of the depth stop. For this, the Forstner bit should have a larger diameter than the guide sleeve. The guide sleeve has an outer diameter of 26 mm.
This depth stop is suitable for the Bormax Forstner bit series 1622. Note: When using other Forstner bits, the shank diameter must match the inner diameter of the guide sleeve. The shank is the thickened part of the drill shaft that is not inserted into the chuck.
