This vise is made from rolled steel, and the surface is lightly treated with oil. Benchcrafted designed this vise for workbenches that are less than 762 mm (30 inches) high, but it also works in larger workbenches. The mortise in the leg only needs to be 362 mm (14-1/4 inches) long, not 495 mm (19-1/2 inches) like the Solo or Retro. It is also perfect for the „Moravian” workbenches popularized by Will Myers, which have shorter legs and jaws than the usual French workbenches. The installation of the „Scissor 14” to the workbench and jaw is done in the same manner as the Solo.
