Product information
A practical and popular method for joining construction timbers is using threaded rods, washers, and nuts. Often, the washer and nut need to be countersunk into the wood. In practice, the carpenter drills a through-hole in a wooden beam with an auger bit according to the thread used. A countersink is then used to countersink the washer and nut. This involves two steps. It’s simpler with these attachable countersinks: Just attach them to the shank of the auger bit, tighten the set screw, and drilling and countersinking is accomplished in one step.
These attachable countersinks feature the new Bormax 2.0 geometry. Due to the two staggered main cutting edges and the longitudinally grooved pre-cutters, you require significantly less feed force. Friction is minimized, thus keeping heat generation low. These attachable countersinks fit all FAMAG auger bits from the 1410 series with a shank diameter of 13 mm, meaning from a drill bit diameter of 14 mm. All diameters have a length of 30 mm. Famag Series 1411.
