These cone-shaped stones are versatile for use with all rounded chisels regardless of the specific sweep. Both the outside and inside of various gouges can be worked on without any issues. The inner radius is somewhat flatter, about 45 mm. Gouges with a smaller radius are sharpened by swinging them side to side while simultaneously pulling them lengthwise across the stone. For this, the stone should be clamped in place.
