The Roughing Stone Sun Tiger with grit 240 hollows out relatively quickly, but in return, you are rewarded with an extremely high material removal rate, for example, when grinding out nicks in knives.
With this stone, you can grind out a nick in just a few minutes, but it should be dressed after each use for irons where a straight edge is important. Keep in mind that this isn’t for everyone, but if you accept it, you’ll have a wonderful, fast-working stone. You can use significantly less pressure with this stone compared to the SHAPTON 120, as the loose grit of the SUN TIGER grips well right away.
This stone is loved for its extremely fast material removal and hated for the quick hollowing of its sharpening surface. Simply dress it more often, as this process is very quick with this stone.
