Product information
This guide rail, to which any circular saw can be applied, makes cutting board materials safe and easy. The stop with a handle and scaled guide rail are firmly riveted. Rubber pads on the underside effectively prevent slipping on the cutting material.
The angle part, stop, and rail are made of lightweight aluminum, which allows for fatigue-free working even during extended use. The handle made of ABS is ergonomically shaped and coated with soft elastomer, ensuring it never feels cold or uncomfortable, even in unheated rooms or outdoors. The wear-resistant edge of the rail is made of stainless steel.
For good readability of the scales, the rail is coated in blue and marked with white lettering. Since these guide rails are actually manufactured for the Japanese market, and carpenters and joiners still use traditional units of measurement, there are two scales on the rail: besides metric, also „Shaku” (303 mm or 10/33 m) and one division mark on the numbers „Sun” (30.3 mm or 1/33 m). The metric scale is the main scale at the edge, with „Shaku” behind it, so to speak, in the second row.
The Japanese manufacturer Shinwa guarantees an angular accuracy of 0.1 mm over a length of 100 mm, which meets the requirements of a standard carpenter’s square. To better position the circular or jigsaw on the workpiece, the rail extends 10 cm beyond the workpiece, as seen at the end of the rail in the lower part of the image.
The underside stop that lies against the wood is hollow and equipped with a knurled screw. Into this hollow stop, a strip of 8 × 8 mm (included) can be inserted and secured with the knurled screw. This allows you to determine the distance between the rail and the saw cut edge once, so you always know what distance from the line you need to maintain for future cuts.
Two cutouts in the angle part, on the right and left, provide a clear view of the underside stop. This allows you to immediately see from above whether it is cleanly resting against the workpiece.
Furthermore, and this is the main distinguishing feature from other guide rails, it has two handy adjustment screws that remain operable even with gloves. With the help of these screws, which are equipped with plastic caps at the ends to protect the material being worked on, it is possible to position the cut deviating from 90°. To the left, over the entire length, 24 mm are achievable, and to the right, 21 mm: for fitting kitchen countertops in non-exactly right-angled rooms, for example, a welcome aid! The thoughtful positioning of the screws effectively prevents snagging of the power supply cable.
