These wood carving chisels are overall well-proportioned, meaning a narrow chisel also has a correspondingly short shaft and a smaller handle. Carving chisels are distinguished by cuts; the higher the number, the more rounded the cutting edge. Thus, a chisel with cut 1 has a straight cutting edge, with cut 3 a slightly rounded cutting edge, and with cut 11 a strongly rounded cutting edge. Additionally, chisels with cut 1 are also available with a beveled edge. V-tools have their own numbering system. Cut 41 represents an angle of 60°.
