This storage box for plane blades for the combination plane or the small plow plane (both by Veritas) presents them with the cutting edge facing up, so that the desired blade is always readily accessible. Made from Baltic birch plywood, the box stores the blades side by side in two 152 mm (6-inch) long rows. The number of blades that fit in a box thus depends on the width of the blades, meaning the blades in your possession. However, all new blades for the combination plane (four large half-round blades, four hollow blades, eight fluting blades, and the rabbet blade) fit in one box; a second box can hold all the blades for the small plow plane, including the blades that require the conversion kit for wider blades. A cover protects the blades when not in use.
