These plane irons are a significant improvement over the usual „chrome-vanadium” blades that come with the planes. These irons, made from high-quality, fine-grained carbon steel, are much easier to sharpen—and they become sharper! You will be impressed when you use this iron for the first time! The plane irons offered here are 17% thicker than usual and fit most metal planes available today (such as jUUMA, STANLEY, RECORD, KUNZ, ANANT). Take the time for some preparations; your iron plane will be significantly better for it. Smooth the sole of the plane, adjust the frog (the movable plane iron bed) so that the mouth of the plane is not larger than absolutely necessary. Then sharpen the plane iron until it is razor-sharp. Refer to Ron Hock’s sharpening guide for this! Your plane will produce transparent, fine shavings and a silky, glossy, smooth surface!
