With this beam compass, you can draw circles or arcs of any size. You can use any strip with a thickness between 15 and 19 mm. The strip is held securely because each locking knob presses a pin into the strip, preventing it from slipping during work. When the locking knob is opened, the pin retracts.
Instead of one of the two steel pins, you can also use a pencil. The metal pins are made of hardened steel. The tip of one of the steel pins is not centered but mounted on the side, i.e., eccentrically.
This allows you to screw the beam compass heads with only an approximate measure. By turning the eccentric pin, you have an additional 3 mm of play to adjust the compass precisely.
