Bau was aus Holz! / Asa Christiana

Product information

Asa Christiana offers an extremely easy introduction to working with wood in this book. Deliberately, he does not want to write a traditional book about furniture making, but rather wants to encourage people who are interested in working with wood to simply start.

He does not want to write a book following the traditional rules of furniture making. Instead, he sympathizes with the DIY movement and wants to encourage people to gain their own experiences before learning complex wood joints.

He defines a list of necessary tools. Not many, but these few are needed. And then you are ready to go. 13 projects for living spaces and workshops that are truly fun. And in the end, you have learned a lot.

Asa Christiana has enjoyed building things since he was a child. After training at a vocational school, he turned to journalism and eventually became the editor-in-chief of Fine Woodworking, America’s leading woodworking magazine, for eight years.

He now lives as a furniture maker in Portland, Oregon, where he writes, builds, hikes, cycles, and drinks good beer—not necessarily in that order.
