The use of a measuring stick allows you to compare sizes directly without having to translate them into numbers first. This reduces the risk of errors — such as transposing numbers — and increases accuracy. You can also use the measuring stick to quickly check if a body is square by testing if the two diagonals are equal in length.
This measuring stick consists of two 150 mm (6 inch) long steel rods, connected with aluminum clamps. The rods have threaded holes at the ends, into which the brass measuring tips or extension rods (included in the set) can be screwed.
The set includes three different types of measuring tips: round tips for internal measurements (the round tips help avoid scratches on soft woods), pointed tips for measurements in inside corners, and mushroom-shaped tips that can be hooked over edges for measurements on outside surfaces. The tips are designed so that the distance between the round and pointed tips and the distance between the inner sides of the mushroom-shaped tips are the same. This allows you to convert an internal measurement into an external measurement by simply changing the tips.
The clamps feature large knurled screws and slide easily over the rods, allowing you to quickly adjust the measuring stick. The measuring stick can be adjusted from 190 mm (7-1/2 inch) to 305 mm (12 inch). With the help of the two pairs of extension rods included in the set (102 mm (4 inch) and 305 mm (12 inch)), you can achieve a maximum length of 1117 mm (44 inch). For even greater distances, 305 mm (12 inch) long extension rods are available separately.
The measuring stick offers you a quick and reliable way to take the actual measurement, rather than just determining the nearest line on a folding rule. This allows you to replace „measure twice and cut once” with „take the measurement once and cut once.” Made in Canada.
