Product information
This small and delicate saw with an overall length of 32 cm is your companion for all tasks in tight and difficult spots. Manufactured by Hishika in Miki, Japan.
The rounded blade of the Azebiki allows cuts into the surface that begin and end blindly, meaning they do not lead to the edge of the workpiece. For example, if you need to cut out the appropriate drawer front from a board because the grain should run continuously, you won’t get far with an electric jigsaw, as you would need to drill out the corners with a drill – as a drawer front, the sawed-out piece is no longer usable. This is where the Azebiki is just right.
In restoration, such as repairing a dresser – when parts of the old, worn-out drawer guides need to be sawed out, the Azebiki is the right tool. Here, the shortness of the blade proves advantageous, allowing you to reach corners that you couldn’t reach with a saw before.
As an aid for a straight cut on the surface, you can easily clamp down a strip. I know people who successfully use the Azebiki as a dovetail saw. Here, cutting a strip with an angled edge has proven useful for precise guidance.
This saw is also very popular among boat builders because it allows work in the tightest and most inaccessible places. Its versatility is discovered gradually through use. You’ll be amazed at what you can do with it.
