Achieve clean, tear-free holes with a flat bottom using the proven auger bits from FAMAG, available in drilling diameters up to 50 mm. Made in Remscheid, Germany.
These bits feature a curved, pronounced pre-cutter that creates a clean hole edge even at slow speeds. The main cutter is shaped like a chisel, rotating around the threaded tip and peeling off wood layer by layer within the circle cut by the pre-cutter. The threaded tip draws the bit into the wood, requiring virtually no pressure.
These auger bits are suitable for all types of softwood and European hardwoods such as beech and oak. They are not suitable for extremely hard tropical wood. Do not allow the bit to overheat and „vent” frequently, i.e., withdraw the bit with the drill running (not pulling out) to aid chip removal and cool the bit. Work with only light pressure!
