Product information
The auger bits from the brand „FISCH” are manufactured by Johann Eberhard Ges.m.b.H. in Austria. They feature a pronounced pre-cutter that creates a clean hole edge, even at slow speeds. The main cutting edge rotates around the threaded tip, removing layer after layer of wood within the circle cut by the pre-cutter. The threaded tip pulls the drill into the wood, requiring virtually no pressure.
Auger bits are primarily used in carpentry for drilling through beams and rafters. Due to their good chip removal, they are especially suitable for deep cuts.
Hand-sharpened pre-cutters ensure a ring-shaped removal of material. The precision cutting edges guarantee a clean drill edge on entry and exit of the bore, and they can be resharpened up to 15 times. The large chip space provides optimal chip ejection with minimal friction and minimizes the risk of clogging. The extended hardened drill head ensures a smooth transition of the structural buildup. This optimal hardening allows for significantly longer service life and high-quality cutting edges.
These auger bits are suitable for all types of softwoods and European hardwoods such as beech and oak. They are not suitable for extremely hard tropical wood. Do not allow drills to overheat and „vent” them often, i.e., retract the drill with the drill running (do not pull out) to aid in chip removal and to cool the drill.
