How many times have you completed tasks on your workbench thinking they were a bit too rough for a wood surface, or even damaged the surface with such tasks? In a small workshop, for example, if you don’t have a dedicated worktable for metalwork, the workbench often takes the hit. But that doesn’t have to be the case. This anvil, made from a 6.3 mm thick steel plate, offers necessary protection for your workbench surface. The plate is bent at the front, so it also protects the front of your workbench up to a depth of 25 mm. To prevent the anvil from slipping, a round pin with a diameter of 16 mm and a length of about 30 mm is welded to the underside. The pin’s distance from the workbench edge is tailored to Pinie professional workbenches with 19 mm bench dogs. There is a hole at one corner to allow the anvil to be hung up.
If you wish to use this anvil for a self-made workbench or a different brand, please ensure that the center of the hole for the pin is 60 mm away from the workbench edge. Measurements are approximate. Drill the hole only when you have the anvil in hand!
