Often, when drilling and countersinking in wood in one operation, the appropriate slip-on countersink is not at hand. This carbide-tipped variable countersink can be mounted on any wood twist drill with a diameter of 3 – 8 mm. This tool consists of 2 half-shells that are easily attached to the drill with two screws. In the sketch on the left, you can see the various application possibilities concerning the countersink depth. Designed at 90° specifically for countersunk screws! Ideal, for example, for the quick installation of hardwood terrace floors.
Application: The slip-on countersink is simply mounted onto the drill. The recesses on the inside of the countersink ensure that the countersink is aligned axially with the drill. After setting the depth, the countersink is fixed using two hex screws. Only insert the 8 mm drill from the back with the spiral first into the countersink part, as the space between the two screws is insufficient for the shank at this drill diameter.
