Our hand drills feature a square drive at the base of the chuck, which prevents the drill bit from rotating within the chuck. The size of this drive is designed to accommodate the most common square drill bits. However, this comes with the disadvantage that the shafts of smaller drill bits are too small and thus spin freely or are only held by the jaws. This problem is solved by this adapter made from a small piece of square brass tubing (shown in the bottom right of the image). This reduces the square drive from 8 × 8 mm to 6 × 6 mm.
