A rustic tool with modern features. The Vietnamese manufacturer ONISHI has equipped the auger bits with an eyelet for pure manual operation (with round wood or stick) with a PTFE coating.
PTFE coatings are used both as non-stick coatings and as sliding coatings (to reduce friction). This reduces friction as the drilling progresses. The drills can be used wherever there is no electricity available or where machine noise is not desired.
A pronounced pre-cutter ensures a tear-free hole, the main cutting edge rotates around a relatively large thread tip and lifts chip by chip within the area cleanly pre-cut by the pre-cutter. The large thread tip pulls the drill into the wood, allowing all the force to be used for turning and no pressure needs to be applied.
Suitable for softwoods and European hardwoods such as beech, oak, and fruit woods.
