Miniature Chiselss
Veritas Set of 3 Miniature Chisels

This chisel set is a new addition to the Veritas line of fully functional miniature tools.

Made at about 1/3 the scale of the regular bench chisels, each is only about 83 mm (3-1/4 inch) long overall and weighs less than 10 g. At this scale, the three tools in the set have 9.5 mm (3/8 inch), 6.3 mm (1/4 inch) and 3 mm (1/8 inch) wide blades. All permit a delicate touch where fine, controlled cuts are needed.

Their 2.4 mm (3/32 inch) thick PM-V11 steel blades are hardened to Rc61-63 and ground flat on the face. They have a 25° bevel. The chisel handles are bubinga with a stainless-steel ferrule.

VERITAS Miniature Bevel-up Smooth Plane

This 1/3 scale version of the Veritas small bevel-up smooth plane is only 89 mm (3-1/2 inch) long and 20.6 mm (13/16 inch) wide.

Fully functional, it has a 15.9 mm (5/8 inch) wide A2 blade (1.5 mm thick) with a 25° bevel angle that, together with the 13° bed angle, provides an effective cutting angle of 38°. The stainless-steel Norris-style adjuster lets you set the blade with precision.

The body is made from investment-cast stainless steel and has a fixed mouth, machined sides and a ground sole. The front knob and rear tote are bubinga. Weighs about 64 g

With its classic shape and French-fitted embossed leatherette case, this plane makes a gift any woodworker will admire.

VERITAS Miniature Block Plane

This version of the low-angle block plane is about a third the size of the original Veritas block plane.

At just under 64 mm (2-1/2 inch) long and 19 mm (3/4 inch) wide, it is a useful size for small-scale work or where a larger plane would be difficult to use. The low 12° bed angle combined with the 25° blade bevel gives it a cutting angle of 37°, making it also suitable for end-grain use.

The stainless-steel Norris-style adjuster lets you set the 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) wide A2 blade (1.5 mm thick) with precision. The body is made from investment-cast stainless steel, and has a fixed mouth, machined sides and a ground sole. Weighs 50 g (1.7 oz).

Made in Canada. Supplied in a French-fitted embossed leatherette box, it makes a stunning gift.

Veritas Miniature Router Plane

As with the other Veritas miniature planes, this tiny 3 inch (76 mm) wide router plane not only looks like its full-size counterpart, it works like it, too. Surprisingly comfortable to hold and maneuver, it is ideal for hardware installation and for fine inlay or intarsia work.

It comes with a 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) wide A2 tool-steel blade (hardened to Rc60-62) that can be positioned inboard for standard use or outboard for true bullnose work. The stainless-steel body has been machined and the sole ground and lapped flat. The sole has also been designed to encircle the blade for maximum registration to a workpiece, and to bridge recesses for stability on narrow stock. The knobs are bubinga. A fine-screw feed mechanism sets blade depth; blades are secured with a knurled clamping knob. Weighs just 2 oz (60 g).

Supplied in an embossed, French-fitted presentation box, it is an outstanding gift for any woodworker.

Veritas Miniature Shoulder Plane

This miniature version of the Veritas medium shoulder plane was developed out of a desire to test the limitations of materials, design, and manufacturing processes (not to mention the patience of the Veritas engineers!). Weighing a mere 1.7 oz (50 g) and measuring 2-1/2" (63.5 mm) long by 1/4" (6.35 mm) wide, this is the smallest plane Veritas have made to date.

Despite its diminutive size, it is fully functional and remarkably effective for fine trimming or cleaning the bottoms of narrow dados. It is surprisingly comfortable to hold, making it exceptionally easy to maneuver and control. The investment-cast stainless-steel body has a fixed mouth, with a machined sole and ground sides. A low 15° bed angle combined with the 25° blade bevel provides a 40° cutting angle.

The stainless-steel Norris-style adjuster lets you set the full-width A2 blade (0.060" / 1.5 mm thick) with precision. Supplied in a French-fitted embossed leatherette box, it makes a stunning gift, at a price that even we can't believe! Highly recommended.

VERITAS Miniature Spokeshave

This spokeshave is a new addition to the Veritas line of fully functional miniature tools. At less than an ounce and only 89 mm (3-1/2 inch) long overall, it is a third the size of our regular flat-bottomed spokeshave, and is useful for making fine shaping cuts where a full-sized tool would be too bulky or awkward to use.

Made of investment-cast stainless steel, the low-profile body (9/16 inch tall = 14 mm) has a 45° blade bed, a tight fixed mouth opening and bubinga handles. The sole and blade bed are machined. The 19 mm (3/4 inch) wide, 1.6 mm (1/16 inch) thick A2 blade is hardened to Rc60-62. Supplied in a French-fitted embossed leatherette box, it makes a great gift.

VERITAS Miniature Edge Plane

This 1/3-scale version of the iron edge plane is a fully functional miniature. Useful for fine trimming work on thin stock up to 3/8 inch (9.5 mm) thick, such as with small-scale boxes or maquettes, it fits the hand well, making it easy to control under fingertip pressure.

The 2-3/8 inch (60 mm) long body and lever cap are machined, investment-cast stainless steel. The 0.060 inch (1.5 mm) thick by 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) wide A2 steel blade has a 25° bevel angle, and, like the original, is bedded at 12° and skewed at 30°. The blade position and depth of cut are easily set by hand. Weighs a mere 1.6 oz. (50 g)

Presented in a French-fitted embossed leatherette box, this diminutive edge plane makes a great gift for any woodworker or tool aficionado.

VERITAS Miniature Cabinet Scraper

This cabinet scraper is the latest addition to the Veritas line of fully functional miniature tools. At about 1/3 the scale of the full-size tool, it measures 3-13/16 inch (81 mm) wide overall and weighs about 425 g. Its small size allows fine control when smoothing surfaces.

The 15/16 inch (24 mm) wide blade, made of spring steel and ground at a 45° angle, is held at a consistent depth and angle. A thumbscrew lets you camber the blade to prevent blade corners from leaving ridges in the work. The handle position lets you apply force directly in line with the cutting edge.

Made of investment-cast steel with a stainless-steel camber screw. Supplied in a French-fitted embossed leatherette box, it's a great gift for any woodworker.

Foldable Kataba Saw for Ripcut and Crosscut

With its folding mechanism in proven Z-Saw quality, Model VIII 265 is an ideal companion on the go or on building sites. Changing the blade is the same as for all other Kataba saws: you loosen the blade for removal by tapping the back of it on a piece of wood. Then you hook in a new blade and this time tap the back of the blade holder on the piece of wood, which causes the blade to slide into the desired position. The handle is made of aluminium and rubberized so that holding the saw is comfortable even in cold weather. Length open 62 cm, length closed 33 cm. Saw folded

Adjustable Depth Dozuki Saw Many woodworking projects and joints require one to cut to an exact depth, often repeatedly. Cut a little too deep, and one can be forced to discard an expensive piece of wood and hours of work. This saw would be the gold standard for cutting dovetails, or rabbets, for instance. With this saw, one can adjust and fix the blade backs to achieve the perfect depth of cut every time. This is a professional-quality saw, with very sharp and precisely-ground teeth!
Blade length 225 mm
Blade thickness 0.3 mm
Kerf 0.4 mm
Pitch 25 TPI (1 mm)
Cutting depth near handle 42 mm
Cutting depth near tip of blade 50 mm
The kerf is wider than the blade is thick, because the teeth are set. This helps to prevent the blade from becoming wedged in the cut. The measuring scale on the blade is printed. For a very precise depth of cut we recommend to use a separate measure to set the blade back. This saw is manufactured by the saw smith Yoshiwaka, in Miki, Hyogo Province, Japan.

Screw Removal Pliers Neji-saurus PZ-59 from ENGINEER This genuine innovation in screw extractor tools will leave you in no doubt about its reliability and immediate usability. The name Neji-saurus can be freely translated as Screw Saurier and the association with voracious animals of prehistoric times sums up the essence of this tool. Conventional pliers have serrations that run horizontally and mostly the pliers slip off right away because the first serration is back from the tip of the plier head. If you nonetheless succeed in gripping the screw head with the tip of the pliers, the jaws of the pliers will slide along it and fail to grip it properly.

By contrast, the vertical serrations on the gripping surfaces of the PZ-59 grip the screw at several points. It is this tooth geometry that enables you to reliably grip even screws that protrude only minimally above the surface. It can be used for damaged round-head screws, oval-head screws, by all means rusty ones, and even on screw nails. And the screw removal pliers are especially useful for tackling screws with exotic heads for which you have no screwdriver that fits. Suitable for screw head diameters from 3 to 15 mm.
