Kevin Wilkins Kitchen Knives
Kevin Wilkins lives in Berlin/Germany and is knife maker for 15 years. Recently he turned his interest to making kitchen knives. For him the most important aspect of a knife is the design, which should combine beauty with functionality. He does his best to come up with innovative designs and produces them in the most appropriate way possible – whether that involves CNC programming or sitting at the workbench and using a file.
From the beginning, he wanted to make the best kitchen knives possible. And since the thin, flat blade grind ideal for kitchen cutlery is impractical to realize with hand grinding, he decided to have my blanks machine ground in Solingen, Germany. The truth is, hand ground blades would only be ten times more expensive, they wouldn't cut one cent better.
Mytuko Mini Lime
The Santoku blade geometry is practical for a wide variety of cutting chores in any kitchen. Wilkins did not venture far from Santoku tradition for the basic shape of the Mytuko Series blades. Each Mytuko blade is optimized for maximum performance. He retained the Santoku proportions while totally reinterpreting the from and construction. All Mytukos feature full-tang construction with grips securely bolted in place. These Mytukos have removable grip scales, allowing individual users to slim their knife down as usage dictates. They feature a convenient ring at the end of the grip for a lanyard or hook in the kitchen.
The Mytuko Mini features a machine flat ground blade made from 1.4116, Solingen's Classic stainless cutlery steel.
The grips are machined from translucent lime green G11 glass fiber plastic.
