It’s simple! When you click on the order number or the basket symbol, the item that you would like to purchase is placed in your basket. You can order from Fine Tools without needing to create an account.
Note: All the prices and articles shown on this page are only to demonstrate the ordering process, the actual prices and articles in our store can be different or change over time and so these examples should not be taken as offers.
In the basket, your article and its price will be listed. When you have entered the country to which you would like the item(s) sent, the shipping company, and the payment method, then the page will calculate the total price, with shipping costs included. If you would like to continue shopping, it is best to simply click on the “back” arrow on your browser, or on “homepage” at the top of the page to go back into the store. When you have everything that you would like to purchase is in your shopping basket, click on the green button
On the next ordering page, you will choose if you would like purchase without creating an account, create an account, or log into your client account, if you already have one. The ordering process is, starting with this page, secured by the SSL3 protocol and is safe! One can see this in the address bar as the normal"http" has changed to "https". If you would like to order without registering, simply click on the " Straight to Checkout" button. If you would like to register, click on the " Proceed to Register" button.
On the next page fill out the address information. Depending on the payment method you chose, there will be other information to enter. If you prefer not to enter that type of information on the Internet, choose a payment method for which it is not needed, “Cash on delivery,” or “Bank transfer prior to shipment”, for example. You can, at any time during the ordering process, go back a page and change or correct your entries. When you are finished with everything, click on "Next, overview and last check of entries". This step will not send your order.
On this page you find a summary of your order information. Please look it over carefully, to make sure everything is correct. At this point you can still change anything you want. In the last box, you can enter any additional information or requests that you would like us to take note of. When everything is correct, and you click on the green "Buy" button, then your order will be sent to us.
After a few moments, you will see a page that says " Thank you very much for your order!" This means that we have received your order. You will also receive a copy of the order in your email inbox, normally within a minute or two, if you entered your email address correctly. You can also click on the " Print your order" link to print out the information immediately.
For companies in the EU outside of Germany, when the order includes a valid VAT identification number. Enter this number in the appropriate field in the orderform. It will be automatically validated online. The name of the company and its address must match what has been registered with the appropriate tax authority and the VAT ID number. When the information has been validated, the price shown for the order will be show without any VAT.
When ordering from a country outside the EU, the VAT tax will automatically be eliminated, as soon as you have entered 1. the country of delivery, 2. the shipping company and 3. your method of payment.
Switzerland makes a good example. When an article is placed in the basket, the default country of delivery is Germany.
But when you enter your country, in this case Switzerland, the listed price for the article will be reduced by the amount of the VAT, so something costing Euros 54.00 with VAT, the price is automatically recalculated and become Euro 45.38. At the same time the shipping cost for the chosen service, in this case DHL, is added to the total cost.
When ordering from outside Germany, it is often worth comparing the shipping costs between the different companies, especially with more than one package in the order. The example below uses shipping by UPS. Also keep in mind that when shipping to countries outside the EU, there are almost always tariffs and import taxes to be paid by the person who will get the package. Sometimes the delivery service also collects a processing fee for getting the item through customs. Over these kinds of costs, we do not have any influence.
The advantage of a client account is that:
1. You do not need to enter all your address and payment information every time you want to order something.
2. Your orders are stored on our site, so that you can see what you have ordered before from us.
3. You can also create a checklist or wish list to consult before future orders.
Notice: Your payment information, on security grounds, is NOT stored on our internet server! The status of orders is also not stored there. You will get an email when we receive your order, and a second one, with a delivery tracking number, when the order has been sent.
You can create a wishlist, if you are logged in to your client account. If an item is placed in your basket, you can then click on the button " Add basket to wishlist" to create the list.
In the image below, you see a wishlist. You can make different wishlists, for instance one for Christmas, and another for work. To transfer items from a wishlist to your order basket, you simply check the box in front of the item and then click on the button " Move checked items from selected wishlist to basket," and then the ordering process proceeds normally.

Problem: Although I tried to order several articles, I see only one article at a time in my basket.
Solution: You must allow "Cookies" on your browser!
With Internet Explorer you can set it as follows:

If you choose the standard “middle” setting, you will have no problems.
You can also stay with a high security setting, but select certain websites from which you will allow cookies. You click on “Sites” and then in the appropriate box, you enter “fine-tools.com” (but without the quotation marks).
With Firefox, you can set it as follows:
Preferences Privacy History: " Firefox will remember history."
Note: After the order is placed, you can reset your browser and remove the cookies!
Problem: I have correctly entered all of my address and payment information, but after clicking on the green “next” button, the page returns and all of the “required” boxes are flagged with a red error message saying, “Required field ! !”
Solution: This problem involves the Firewall software on your network, or your data traffic router. The information you entered was not allowed to be transmitted to our website, and it can only reply that it has received no information. In this situation there is nothing Fine Tools can do.
On a company network, you can ask the Administrator to change the settings so that you can send this information. On a private router or computer, you must change the settings yourself or have a professional do it. If this is not possible, orders can be printed out and sent to us by fax or letter, or you can also phone the order in. We have no problems taking orders in English at Fine Tools.
