Mortice Gauges, Marking Gauges, Cutting Gauges, Panel Gauges

Gauges with blades (cutting gauges) have the advantage of marking across the grain cleanly with no tearout. CROWN offer a mortice gauge with brass inlays in the scribing surface which will keep it absolutely flat for a long time. They also do a miniature version, but without brass inlay. There is no scale on any of the three CROWN gauges. The mortice gauge with a screw thead for fine adjustment has pins for marking, not a blade. ECE makes marking gauges entirely made of white beech with well readable graduation. One model comes lignum vitae plated. Do not omitt to view our Japanese marking gauges.
