Ball Joint Scraper with Carbon Steel BladeFor any major scraping work, nothing beats a ball-joint scraper. The handle can be set anywhere in a 70° cone, allowing a comfortable grip and effective blade orientation in virtually any circumstance. The handle unlocks or locks solidly with a quarter turn. A Scraper with carbon steel blade is used for finishing bare wood surfaces where maintenance of a finely formed edge is more significant. ShellacShellac is an animal based product, a resin secreted from the "laccifer lacca", an appleseed sized bug in India. It was used for hundreds of years as woodworking finish. When harvested, it has a content of 2 - 3 % wax. For food- and drug industry uses shellac is dewaxed, this is not necessary and often not wished for wood finishes unless you do not want the warm tone of natural shellac. |
