Marking Knives made by CHESTER TOOLWORKS These are the nicest marking knives I ever have seen. They are made by Dave Anderson of Chester Toolworks in Chester NH USA. The nice wood for the handle he uses is only one point. The blades are made from 2.4 mm (3/32 in.) thick precision ground O-1 tool steel, are 7.9 mm (5/16 in.) wide and 32 mm (1-1/4 in.)long. The blades are individually hardened to Rockwell C 62-63 so they will hold an edge and they are shipped honed and ready to use. The total length of the knife is roughly 190 mm (7-1/2 in.). Awls made by CHESTER TOOLWORKS What is said about Chester Toolwork's marking knives can also be said about these fine awls. These awls are designed for hand comfort and durability. The O-1 tool steel blades are taper ground and hardened to Rc 62-63 for approximately 2 inches of their length and terminate in a fine point. Pocket scriber made by STARRETT The handle is of steel, knurled, and nickel plated. The scriber point ist steel, properly hardened and finely tapered so that the location of the point is not obscured. The scriber is held firmly in the handle by a knurled chuck and when not in use can be reversed, telescoped into the handle, and locked by the chuck. The hexagon head prevents rolling. 	Automatic Center Punch with adjustable stroke made by STARRETT These punches have a mechanism which automatically strikes a blow when downward pressure is applied. No hammer is required, making one hand always free to steady the work. The force of the blow is regulated by the adjustable knurled cap. Should a heavy mark be required, the cap is screwed down. Progressivly lighter marks are obtained by turning the cap upward. The needle is made of forged steel, the handle made of lightweight aluminium. Prick Punches made by STARRETT When precise positioning of a point or an intersection of lines is required, thes are the punches to use.
