HSS Hollow Section Twist Drills
The drill bits don't need to be cheap, only the drilling does! This is the philosophy driving the drill manufacturer Löher, which has been making top-quality bits in Remscheid, Germany, for the last 80 years. They were the first bit manufacturer to cut their grooves using CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) cutting disks on their in-house-built groove grinding machines. CBN is almost as hard a diamond, and leaves a much smoother surface than normal grinders, allowing for much better chip clearance. These bits are a step above and cannot be compared with ordinary polished, milled or rolled drill bits. They are manufactured in Remscheid, Germany and bear the name of the maker.
