Whether you are seeking for replacement blades for your wooden plane or trying to start your own planemaking project, here you are in the right place. Notice: We cannot guarantee that the blades offered here fit any other planes than those spezified below. Important note for our US Customers: As overseas shipping charges are still very high it is not recommended to ship a single blade across the ocean. Shipping costs can be higher than the price of the blade. But we trust it is a good add-on to a plane or saw order. Of course we ship a single blade if you so wish.

Plane blade 48 mm - without chipbreaker Dieter Schmid Fine Tools is proud to offer these Hand Planer Blades which have been made exclusively for us in a limited run. These blades are Made in Germany from high alloy, tungsten tool steel specially selected for optimal hardness and an extra fine cutting edge. Each blade is precision laser cut, contour machined to exact specifications, vacuum heat treated and tempered to RC 61 and then carefully ground on automated machinery. This blade is suitable for alle wooden planes with blade width 48 mm and where the blade is hold by a wedge. You can fit your ECE or ULMIA plane with this blade. Be sure and keep your blade lightly oiled and free from moisture. Protect the cutting edge from damage and use care when resharpening. Never use power machinery to sharpen these blades as heat may destroy the blade's temper. Sharpen by hand! We offer very good honing guides and whetstones. If you have a question, please contact us.
