CLIFTON of Sheffield are continuing the tradition of beautifully produced iron planes begun by EDWARD PRESTON & SONS in Birmingham. The bed of the iron, the mouth and the face are all made most accurately. The mouth is narrow that it allows the finest shavings to be produced. It is my personal experience that Clifton rabbet planes are unsurpassed. Especially in those awkward places where the amount of force you can transfer from hand to tool is limited, these planes are a true friend.
Veritas comes with an interesting line of shoulder planes. The control over the adjustment of the blade for this type of planes has been substantially improved.
KUNZ, the only one in Germany who makes cast iron planes, offers the no. 75.
The Anant planes we offer now became a favorite among woodworkers due to their low prices related to the quality.
Please note: The cutting angle is the sum of the angle of the bed of the plane iron and of the bevel angle, as all these planes have the bevel upwards. Example: Angle of the bed of the plane iron: 13° + bevel angle: 25° = cutting angle 38°!
