Saws without offset like the inlay saw made by THOS. FLINN are used in the main for cutting inlay and veneers. For the tiniest and most delicate of dovetails, there is the jeweller's saw. It has no offset and must be guided with a steady hand and not too much pressure, or it will be in danger of buckling. Do not attempt any deep cuts with it. If the saw has once bent the cut will not run true. But treat it well and it will reward you with excellent quality cuts.
Thomas Flinn's PAX flush cutting saw is a genuine competitor for the Japanese Kugihiki. The British saws and all veneer saws can be sharpened when they need it.
