Small miters can be cut, after marking, directly on this vise. The saw's teeth are protected by a wood insert in the surface of the vice.

After a preliminary cut is made, you will often see small irregularities in the fit between the two sections of frame.

MTo achieve a perfect fit, you simply clamp the two pieces of wood in place at the correct angle, and saw through them again at the joint. The sawÕs blade should cut a kerf at least as wide as the biggest gap between the two pieces to get a good fit. If not, one can repeat the process to obtain a progressively cleaner joint.
